“everyone should still be celebrated and appreciated for their differences and unique abilities.”
When I pulled up to the farm to photograph Elizabeth and Moo, I immediately knew that this was about to be an absolute blast. Pulling into the drive is the world's cutest red roan mini with a mohawk, to the left you are greeted by a whole herd of adorable baby thoroughbreds, and by the time you make it to the barn you are swarmed by three adorable farm dogs. But wait!! There is more!
After I stepped out of the car and managed to finish melting over the precious corgi, I was met with an armload of tiny kitten fluff. I seriously thought I had died and gone to heaven.
Liz was an absolute joy to meet. She is one of those people that exudes passion. You can almost see it radiate off of her, but in the kind of way that makes you so interested in whatever she says.
“To me, diversity and body positivity means celebrating our differences and what makes us unique.”
Not only does Liz ride for her college's hunt seat team, where she is outspoken and supportive of inclusivity in the show community, she is also a hard worker on a local breeding farm, and a part owner in several thoroughbred foals. When asked why this project was important, she went on to say: "it's not just about body positivity for people. Moo is a thirteen-year-old retired broodmare and I have gotten constant criticism -shes too old, shes past her prime, she is better suited to be a pasture ornament. I'm here to prove all of those stereotypes wrong and show everyone that retired broodmares can be just as fancy as all of those young OTTBs!"
Moo and Liz make a killer team, and I cant wait to see them compete more!
