A riding instructor, mom, and equine enthusiast, Lynn is dedicated to the local horse community. She was a competitive eventer for 20 years, and has been teaching for the last 10. "I don’t think there should be limitations put on people based on their size. I’ve taught people of various body types & I've seen them all be capable of accomplishing their riding goals. I encourage anyone with the desire to ride."
She agreed that the level of representation in the equine community varies depending on where you are in the sport. While she noted that she has never experienced a direct discrimination in the sport before, she did make the good point that income often correlates directly. Different disciplines lack in areas where others do not, while owning horses merely for pleasure riding is more accessible than competing.
As an instructor she believes anyone is capable noting "Our horses don’t care if we’re tall or short, large or thin. They love & accept us just as we are & I think that’s a great respite for people who struggle with body image. Being able to experience the freedom of riding can show people that their bodies are capable of doing something they love just as they are."
