Lily blooms on an off property adventure
Sometimes you think a day is going to be a good day, and sometimes you pull up at the ring on a luscious green summer day to the prettiest blue roan filly, and you just KNOW its going to be a good day.
Getting to snag some flat work photos of Lily, as well as a few photos over fences in the hunter ring was a blast as Sammi told me all about the little mare's quirks. I think she knew the paparazzi was there because that mare absolutely strutted her stuff through the ring. A solid brain and a clean work ethic were very apparent in the four year old quarter horse.
After a couple trips around the rind Sammi asked if we could test the derby field with a little cross country schooling as well. You could see Lily's brain working in real time over every fence, calculating every step. Her color absolutely popped against the thick green foliage and I might have had to pause to wipe the drool that resulted.
To top it all off Lily took standing for full body confirmation shots as if she truly was a professional model!
It was such an honor to be a part of capturing all these moments that make Lily stand out, as she will be featured in a catalog for an upcoming quarter horse sale! And I wouldn't be surprised if this is just one of many magazine debuts for the mare. Keep your eyes peeled for this one!
